First impressions of an agile classroom

KCSA Consultant, Mary-Anne, recently joined KCSA. Here she explains her first impressions of seeing a new classroom experience.

When I first joined KCSA, innovative school furniture and tech as an unknown, everyday has been a journey. There were moments when I didn’t understand the importance of specialized, agile and ergonomic furniture but as a mom I stayed motivated wanting to learn more so I can better equip myself acquiring the understanding and knowledge of how this furniture could change the way in which my own children learn. The fluid spaces we create is exactly what schools should have had all along: furniture that excites that sparks excitement and fosters engagement between teachers and students.

The variety of colours, styles, quality and ergonomics to the different layouts that can be styled in a classroom are sure to increase concentration in all students. The positive effect for physically active students has immediate and long term benefits, increased test scores, 15% more likely to go to college, reduced risk of heart disease, stroke, cancer and diabetes.

I am excited to introduce a new standard of learning in schools across the country. This is the 21st Century of learning and with a new perspective to education, one where children can engage in a fun, dynamic and flexible learning environment using tools created for each of their specific needs such as the hokki stool which is a chair specifically designed for movement seeking children and the pantsowing which gives you up to 9 hours of seating and a built-in air cushion for comfortable seating this is the way to achieve remarkable results. With tables that encourage group and individual learning such as the puzzle table ideal for occupational therapy this is the engagement teachers should have with their students. It’s a way of learning with countless ways to understand, allowing each child to be themselves and absorb knowledge in the way that suits them best.
